Donald C. Jackson is a widely published author on the history of dams. hydraulic engineering, and water in the American West. His book "Heavy Ground: William Mulholland and the St. Francis Dam Disaster" (co-authored with the late Norris Hundley) was award the 2017 Sally Hacker Prize from the Society for the History of Technology.
