Maria Rossetti is a PhD student at the University of Virginia in the Engineering Systems and Environment Department, pursuing a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She holds a B.S. from the University of Arkansas in Chemical Engineering. Her research focuses on understanding how soil amendments, such as biochar, may influence the fate and transport of nutrients in stormwater runoff. The results of her work are important for developing and implementing effective strategies for protecting waterways from nutrients that are conveyed via stormwater runoff.
