Dr. CJ Chen is currently the deputy chair and associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, National Chung Hsing University, in Taiwan. Prior to starting his academic career in Taiwan in 2015, Dr. Chen served as a senior scientist at AIR Worldwide in the U.S. for two years. Dr. Chen also shortly served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received his Ph.D. in 2012. His areas of expertise include 1) hydro-climatic modeling and forecasting, 2) regional catastrophe modeling and risk assessments, 3) integrated climate risk assessments, and 4) GIS and remote sensing applications. He serves as an Associate Editor of Weather and Forecasting, and also a Guest Editor and reviewer of various top-tier journals. He was awarded the Best/Outstanding Reviewer of the journal of Terrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences in 2022, and the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management in 2016.
