Leonie Bettel is an environmental water resources graduate student in civil engineering at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. She received her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Kentucky in Civil Engineering and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on water and sediment pathways and transport fluxes in karst environments, where she is currently working on developing a predictive sediment transport model. Leonie is leading the research team at the University of Kentucky Hydrolab for data collection using high-resolution sensors, funded by the NSF SENSE project and NSF SUCCESS program. Furthermore, she is the lead participant in the NSF data fusion project as well as the NSF SUCCESS program.
