Dr. Zhang has over 15 years of experiences in water resources engineering. She has joined Dewberry and developed flood studies for Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program since Aug, 2021. Before joining Dewberry, she worked for University of Akron and Texas A & M University and conducted research projects on large-scale soil moisture investigation, sediment transportation, harmful algal bloom experimental studies, multivariate stochastic hydrology etc. Her current study interests include compounding risk assessment, hydrological response to climate change and human activities, Stochastic and statistical methodology, water resources management, environmental sustainability, harmful algal bloom (HaBs) prediction and early warning modeling. Dr. Zhang authored/co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal/conference papers, book chapter and books. She is currently serving as associate editor for Journal of Hydrologic Engineering (ASCE) and Journal of Hydroinformatics (IWA).
