Lendzemo Eugene Wirnsungnin is Executive secretary of Association for Sustainable Developoment (ASD) a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Cameroon. Borne in Kumbo in 1965, North West Region Cameroon, is married with five siblings. Completed Elementary school in 1978 and ensued to secondary and high school obtaining Ordinary Level General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1983 and Advanced Level GCE in 1986 respectively. He holds a graduate degree (B.Sc) in Natural Sciences from the University of Yaoundé.
He worked as a self-employed, subsistence farmer, petty trader, sales agent for an Insurance company for a couple of years before proceeding in 1999 to 2010 as a high school geology teacher. Thereafter, worked in the mining & metals industry as Senior Project Geologist and got enriched in management skills in Mineral Exploration, drilling logistics, logging, geological mapping, structural interpretation of plateau style bauxite formations, iron ore and gold formations and Greenery Association Cameroon (NGO).
His NGO partnering with GHNI in implementing Transformational Community Development (TCD) principles in the hidden and neglected rural communities.
Eugene has assisted in completion of nine Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects, with the drilling of boreholes and installation of solar energy, submersible pumps, elevated towers, stand taps, and underground pipelines for gravity distribution to carrying points. All these projects are realized with organization of the community into functional governance groups, formation and training of water management and caretaker committees. Hygiene and sanitation promotion is also part of his skills in communities as he drills communities on hand washing, spread of germs, mitigation and prevention of COVID-19 and future pandemics. Eugene is a skilled logistic manager and has a charisma in mobilizing rural communities in choosing and developing sustainable priority projects that meet their primary development perspectives.
