Graduate Research Assistant
University of California Riverside
Jean Claude Iradukunda graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in integrated sciences.
He then joined the University of California Riverside in the fall of 2020 to pursue a Ph.D. in environmental sciences, and He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the UCR Water Management Laboratory.
His research focuses on understanding the tradeoffs between urban irrigation water conservation and plants' ecosystem services.
He evaluates and examines the impacts of varying irrigation rates and frequencies on plant health, quality, and carbon dynamics in turfgrass ecosystems to find the optimum irrigation strategy. He also evaluates the effectiveness of watering days restrictions for urban water conservation and the implication of the policy on urban heat dynamics.
