Alexis Dufour is an experienced professional engineer who values the complex interaction among state-of-the-practice, research, regulatory, and policy challenges in creating solutions for resilient water resources systems. He has over 20 years of experience in water resources systems planning and management both in the private and the public sectors.
Alexis is passionate about improving our understanding of complex water system vulnerabilities and developing resilient adaptation actions to address climate change risks. Recently, he was the project manager for the Long-term Vulnerability Assessment of the San Francisco Regional Water System. A multi-year study to help quantitatively and qualitatively assess to what extent climate change will be a threat to the water system in comparison to, or in combination with, other external drivers of change.
He is a member of the American Meteorological Society Water Resources Committee and was part of the Water Research Foundation 2022 Research Planning Committee.
