Dr. Zhuping Sheng is a professor at Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), certified Professional Hydrologist, and Fellow of ASCE. He had 40 years of experience in water resources engineering and geomechanics. He directs research programs and provides leadership in advancing hydrological modeling and conjunctive use of water resources, conducting interdisciplinary research on managed aquifer recharge, desired future conditions, and aquifer mechanics, and promoting integrated water resources management and geohazards reduction. Dr. Sheng has served many roles in the technical committees of ASCE-EWRI, such as chairing committees, organizing groundwater symposia and technical and special panel sessions at the EWRI Congress, and developing standard guidelines. He received his Doctoral degree from the University of Nevada, Reno USA, his M. Sci. degree from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, and his B. Eng. degree from Tongji University, Shanghai, China.
