Hadi is a postdoctoral research associate in the Hydro-systems Group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. He is currently conducting research on the long-term vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning for Santa Cruz Water Department, Santa Cruz. He is utilizing a decision scaling approach to analyze the Santa Cruz water supply system for vulnerabilities to meet demand and evaluate adaptation options to improve water supply reliability in a changing climate. Hadi received a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Colorado State University in 2021 studying the vulnerability of U.S. river basins to water shortage over the 21st Century. He hopes to improve future water resource planning and management to inform all decision makers and planners across the nation regarding the increasing water shortage and drought conditions and find solutions and preparedness plans to attenuate negative consequences on the society, environment, economy, water, and land resources.
