Scott Yost, Ph.D., P.E. is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the UK Department of Civil Engineering specializing in Hydraulic Engineering. His areas of expertise include physical and numerical modeling of hydraulic systems. Research interests include Parallel Computational Fluid Mechanics with particular emphasis on numerical solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in free surface flow, transport processes in surface water systems. Besides advanced numerical modeling, he also has considerable experience in physical modeling where he has performed/directed numerous scale model studies of pump stations and intake structures. More recently he has been involved with service-related research in helping the Appalachian region of Eastern Kentucky improve water utilities through management and distribution system operation workshops, as well as distribution system modeling and field data collection. Dr. Yost is a registered professional engineer in Kentucky and Michigan.
