Dr. Jejung Lee is a Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the Division of Natural and Built Environment and Director of the Center for Applied Environmental Research at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC). His expertise includes computational modeling of geological and hydrogeological structures, geoinformatics and spatial data analysis using GIS and remote sensing data. He has secured over $2 million dollars through 17 research grants from federal and international agencies, including National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Science Foundation (NSF), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Dr. Lee is a recipient of Norman Royall Distinguished Research Award, the most prestige award in the College of Arts and Sciences at UMKC in 2021. His efforts have resulted in 27 peer-reviewed journal publications and proceedings, and over 60 conference papers and invited talks presented at various international conferences and institutions.
