Kylee Siegrist is a graduate student at University of Missouri - Kansas City in the Environmental and Urban Geosciences department in the School of Science and Engineering. She graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Geology and is now pursuing her master’s degree with a focus in hydrogeology. Aside from working on this research project, she has also been a graduate teaching assistant. These classes include, Environmental Science’s Understanding the Earth lab, Geology’s Evolution and the Geologic Record and Civil Engineering’s Soil Mechanics lab. For her thesis she is researching the effects crop burning has on soil moisture applying a VEgetation-LAnd cover Soil water dynamics model (VELAS). She is planning on graduating in 2023 and finding a job in her field.
