Don Baker, PE, DWRE, CPESC, VMA, has 30 years of water resources engineering experience, specializing in numerical and physical modeling to understand stormwater management, hydraulic structures, ecosystem restoration and watershed management. He is principal and owner of Water Resources Solutions, in Prairie Village, Kansas, and a registered professional engineer in 12 states. He has managed 12 projects that built physical models studying hydrologic and hydraulic problems across the Midwest and western United States. An Instructor for the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Baker teaches Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics of Open Channels, Hydraulic Structures and Urban Hydrology. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, American Public Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the International Erosion Control Association. He is active in the Environmental and Water Resources Institute of ASCE.
