Dr. Erica Marti is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned PhD and MS degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNLV and conducted postdoctoral research at the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Much of her work has focused on emerging disinfection byproducts, especially pertaining to water reuse. Current projects include understanding sources of precursors for haloacetonitriles, treatment of contaminated groundwater with carbon-based adsorbents, alternative coagulants for phosphorus removal in wastewater treatment, and urban water system interdependence. She also works with K-12 educators on multiple programs focused on STEM education, engineering design, and increasing the STEM workforce.
