Dr. Dale Devitt is a soil and water scientist in the School of Life Sciences at UNLV. He obtained his B.S degree (Environmental Science), MS degree (Soil Science) and PhD degree (Soil Science) all at the University of California Riverside. He is the director of the Center for Urban Water Conservation at UNLV, conducting both applied and basic research. He has conducted research on the suitability of reuse water for the golf course industry, assessing nitrogen and salt balances, irrigation management and foliar damage to ornamental shrubs and trees. He is the author of approximately 90 peer reviewed scientific journal articles and one book. He is an avid wine maker and social justice activist.
