Mr. Wicklein has over 22 years of experience evaluating complex flow problems with numerical models, focused on planning and design of facilities for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment. He has conducted hundreds of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) studies of municipal and industrial water facilities. These projects have ranged throughout the water and wastewater conveyance systems and treatment processes, from pump intake modeling, to simulation of junctions and flow splits, as well as detailed modeling of most of the major water treatment and wastewater treatment components such as intake, headworks screen and grit systems, flocculation and sedimentation basins, primarily clarifiers, aeration basins and oxidations ditches, secondary clarifiers, filter systems, disinfection systems, and outfalls. Ed is a member of the International Water Association CFD modeling group and active committee member with the Hydraulic Institute developing ANSI pump intake standards.
