Professor Robert Sitzenfrei received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Innsbruck in 2010. As a researcher at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering in Innsbruck, he has led and co-led both basic and applied research projects in all areas of urban water management and has published more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals, books, and scientific conference proceedings. He is a regular member of the scientific committee member of various international conferences and serves as editor and guest editor of special issues in various journals. In 2018, he was appointed as a full professor for urban water management at the University of Innsbruck. His research interests include integrated and interdisciplinary approaches, resilience, urban water networks, complex network analysis, transition modeling, smart (water) cities, water and energy, and sustainability.
