Broadly speaking, my research area is focused on developing novel mathematical and computational methods for predicting flow, water quality, and biogeochemical processes in natural and engineered systems. I have applied my skills in mathematical modeling and machine learning to a wide range of applications, including but limited to sustainable stormwater management, flow, and reactive transport in highly heterogeneous porous media, use of environmental tracers in characterizing surface, and subsurface hydrologic systems. Specifically, I am the developer of a flexible and agile framework called Green Infrastructure Flexible model (or GIFMod, www.gifmod.com). GIFMod can construct hydraulic and water quality processes models in stormwater control measures and agricultural BMPs at various scales.
