Chris Katopodis is the president of Katopodis Ecohydraulics Ltd. Winnipeg,
Canada since 2010. Prior to this position, he worked at the Freshwater Institute of Canada for
about 35 years. Chris Katopodis is an expert on ecohydraulics and has a strong background in
inter- and trans-disciplinary work integrating hydraulics, hydrology, river morphodynamics and
ice dynamics with environmental and ecological aspects, including habitat suitability,
migrations, swimming ability and behaviour of aquatic biota, especially fish. His contributions to his
field have earned him multiple prestigious awards (e.g., Fellow CSCE, CSCE Dagenais Award,
Government of Canada Distinction Award). He contributed more than 200 refereed publications
with more than half of them in the primary literature.
