Dr. Ghamry is a Research Scientist at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), Canada. Dr. Ghamry earns his Ph.D. in Civil and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Alberta. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University. He also earns a Diploma in Hydroinformatics from the International Institute for Infrastructural Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (IHE Delft). His expertise centers in the areas of ecohydraulics, aquatic ecosystems instream flow needs IFN, and hydrodynamic and habitat modeling. Dr. Ghamry conducts modeling-based research on the impacts of human and natural changes of flow and climate on riverine IFN, fish, and fish habitat for Healthy and Productive Aquatic Ecosystems. Dr. Ghamry has developed tools for IFN and fish habitat use assessment, and Echo-hydraulics models that couple stream hydrodynamic models with the ecosystem models to advise management decisions and recommendations for various river and stream projects, and ecological habitats.
