Dr. Heidi L Gough is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences at the University of Washington, where she teaches Sustainable Bioproducts Development, Lignocellulosic Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Introductory Hydrology. She holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Her research areas include, wastewater treatment, soils treatment, biological processes, anaerobic digestion, and molecular ecology. She has a passion for cross-disciplinary collaboration applied toward pressing needs for clean water and biofuels for resource-limited communities. She is the past-chair and a co-founding member of the ASCE EWRI Women Water Nexus Committee.
