Dr. Ohara is an associate professor in Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Wyoming. His research focus is snow hydrology, hydrometeorology, and cryospheric science while he has contributed to the operations of Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) such as the weight-based wind closures (WBWC) and the snow fence placement based on the historical wind field simulations. He has been offered his expertise in adverse weather characterization, snowdrift predictions, and seasonal snow forecasting using stochastic methods.
