Baptiste François is a Research Assistant Professor in the Hydro-systems Group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. He has a Ph.D. in geosciences from the University of Grenoble-Alpes (France) and post-doctoral experience with private and academic research institutes in France (University of Grenoble-Alpes), Italy (University of Padua), Norway (SINTEF Energies) and the United States (University of Massachusetts). His research interests cover hydro-climatology, planning and management of water and energy infrastructure and hydrological extremes. He has worked on projects around the world in this regard, including high-income countries (e.g., United States, Italy, Norway, France, Mexico) and developing countries (e.g., Tunisia, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Malawi). He also has extensive experience working with private companies and public utilities to assess the vulnerability of their system (e.g., San Francisco, Santa Cruz). Dr. François is also an associate editor of the Journal of Hydrology.
