Assistant Professor
Clemson University
Dr. C. Prakash Khedun is an Assistant Professor at Clemson University. Until recently, he was the Program Coordinator of the graduate interdisciplinary Water Management & Hydrological Science program at Texas A&M University. He received his PhD from the same program. Prakash’s research focusses on climate variability and change, more specifically, the hydro-climatological mechanisms leading to drought and its impacts on water availability, agriculture, and society. He uses a combination of established and novel tools—including statistical and machine learning, and data analytics—to monitor, understand, model, and forecast the influence of climate on local hydro-climatology to assist farmers, water planners, and policy makers in water resources management. He has received three best paper awards: two from the Journal of Hydrologic Engineering and one from the American Water Works Association. His current project (BVWaterSmart.tamu.edu) received two coveted state awards: the Blue Legacy Award and the Texas Environmental Excellence Award.
