Given the deteriorating conditions on the Colorado River, it might seem as though the Southern Nevada Water Authority's 50-year Water Resource Plan should have been written in pencil. However, that guiding document has proven essential as a community of more than 2 million people continuously adapts to a volatile operating environment. This presentation will address the regional agency's supply and demand management strategies, which are aimed at minimizing risk and optimizing the use of existing water resources over the next half century.
